Hey there, My Favorite Lists readers! What are you celebrating this month? Would you like to share it with us?

As for me and this site… It is my 3rd month blogging and I would LOVE to meet YOU! Getting to know you is my priority for today and for the rest of March. Well, you are of course always welcome to visit this site any day you want. 😉

Oh, by the way, this is my first ever blog postMy Top 5 Frugal Wedding Tips. I wrote this in time for our 5th church wedding anniversary!

I try to check out all the sites of the people who comment here, but it’s hard to remember every one’s interests and activities. I would love to sit at our dining table all morning and visit your blogs, but I really should clean the house before the children arrive home from school.

So… I would appreciate if you can answer a couple of getting-to-know-you questions below. I will answer them also so you can get to know me better! 😉

1 – What do you do first thing in the morning?

He was my cream, and I was his coffee - And when you poured us together, it was something. - Josephine Baker

It is a toss between drinking coffee and waking up hubby. He makes coffee for both of us if he gets up from the bed before I open my eyes. And, yes I wake him up if I get to to the alarm clock before he does or when one of our children starts to shake me.

2 – Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Marinduque but I spent my childhood summers in Camarines Sur. Both provinces are located in the Philippines but 156 km apart. Each has different cultures, cuisines, and languages. My parents live in Marinduque but my father’s family is in Camarines Sur so they made me do annual visits to get to know my paternal relatives.

3 – Where do you currently live?

My family and I reside in Doha, Qatar. My daughters and I will celebrate our 10th year here in November 2018. Hubby came here a few months ahead of us while our son was born here 7 years ago.

4 – How do you spend your nights?

I work on my blog once the clock hits ten in the evening. I read blogging resources, write down content ideas or network with other bloggers while hubby works on his photography hobby.

Spending quality time for us means working on our separate stuff in the same room at the same time, together.

Then we will watch Netflix while eating burgers and fries. Sometimes, it’s biko and kutsinta combo. I know, it’s not healthy eating too many carbohydrates at midnight haha!

5 – Which book/s changed your life?

I used to rent a corner in my mom’s shop when I was a child. I sold stationery supplies and used books until I had to leave our place to study in Manila. I was excited to study and live in the big city but was also sad that money would stop coming in.

Robert Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad Poor Dad book opened my eyes to different financial instruments. I used to think that wealth can only be achieved by having an active source of money but after reading this book, I ‘ve realized that money can be accumulated faster if we also invest it in real estate, company stocks and other funnels of profits and dividends.

I spent the first weeks of March looking for resources that can help me in my blogging journey. There is a popular course that opened their enrolment this month but it costs almost USD 1, 000 and I can’t afford that. Well, I can pay for that but it will mean selling my stock shares or other investment and I don’t want to do that. I’ve been laid off from my previous job and I don’t need big expenses right now.

Nataly Llanes’ Blogcabulary Plus is a recently launched blogging ebook, which is like a blogger’s encyclopedia. Hubby got this for me as a post-birthday gift.

Happy wife, happy blogger, happy life!

6 – What do you do for a living?

This is a tough question for me.

I was laid off last year so I have no work. BUT, I’m invested in some financial instruments so I guess I do something for a living. Am I right?

I always say I’m a housewife when people ask me this question. I find it easier to say I’m jobless or I’m a stay at home mom. People tend to either 1. give me a certain look, 2. remark that I’m rich, 3. ask me for a longer explanation or 4. do all of the above when I tell them that I’m an investor or I work at home.

Someone actually told me “It’s still better to find a job”. Hmm, okay.

7 – What do you do on your day off?

What day off?!

Hubby lets me sleep in every Friday so that’s what I do on my day off – I am Sleeping Beauty.

8. What is your current state of mind?

I am EXCITED to see your answers, my friends! I would like to know you and what makes you –  YOU.

Are you thrilled about a job promotion or anxious about your early retirement? Are you on the fence about taking an overseas job or adamant about sticking it out with your current job location? Are you frustrated with a mental block or jubilant for publishing a viral blog post? Are you pissed off by a pesky colleague or encouraged by an inspiring mentor?

I would really love to read your answers to these questions! Perhaps we can collaborate on future gigs (guest postings, collaboration works) or meet up for a couple of drinks (coffee, tea, soda, milk, water or wine)? ❤

  1. Congratulations on hitting 3 months! It was fun getting to know you too. I can’t remember all the questions, but I was born in the UK, lived in Japan for 15 years and returned to the UK last year. I don’t work at the moment – long story. And I always want a coffee in the morning (after getting up)!

  2. Hi. Congratulations on your 3rd month of blogging. The first thing I do in the morning is to force myself out of bed (I love sleeping in the mornings:P ). I grew up in Tirana, Albania- follow my website here: because I lately guest posted in a blog and I wrote about my country, when it is published I will share it in the Portfolio part of my website. I currently live in Finland, having an exchange semester (yay), I have written about it in my blog posts in the website as well. The books that changed my life is The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruis Zafon that I aim to read again soon and of course Harry Potter series, and Kissinger’s Diplomacy which I aim to read again and again because it is very hard to understand and rememeber with one time reading.

  3. Hi. I’ve been blogging for almost 12 months and learned an astonishing amount. My blog is and is about everything theme park related including Disney and Universal. I have a day job in Admin that I currently love in Education. It is very diverse and I also run the work social media sites too so I have alot of fun. Current book i’m reading is ‘Wonder’ which is about a boy with a facial deformity going to school for the first time and his struggles. I think every kid should be reading this book as it deals with bullying and empathy. My nights I watch far too much tv but I also read alot too esp if nothing on. I do alot of planning for an upcoming holiday Days off we tend to visit libraries or parks or museums. Places can learn or places that have alot of green space. Its good for the brain..

  4. Congratulations on your 3rd month! I’ve been blogging on and off for the past 5 years at I don’t consider myself a writer, I am actually a physician by profession. And, I am still in training to be an OBGYN. It’s great that you are letting people know who you are. I think that bloggers should be personal with their readers. I’m hoping to read more from your blog in the future. Good luck!

  5. Cheers to 3 months of blogging and many more years to come! I am blogging for 7 years already but am actually not a pro. I don’t blog on regular basis and doing it only if I can have my ‘peace and quiet’ time which seldom happens as I am closely monitoring my kids aged 10 and 4. Blogging becomes my form of relaxation and keeps me energized! You can visit me at, I actually came up with another blog that suppose to be a fashion niche which I don’t know if I can still push through 😬
